Wow I didn't realize the last time I posted was October. I'm pretty excited that it's a new year - usually it doesn't really matter to me that much, but I was thinking the other day a year ago I was packing boxes and this year we're all settled in Ohio and loving it.
For those that really know me you know that I'm a Mary Kay consultant and after moving here I wasn't sure I really wanted to grow my business - well that has all changed with the calendar changing to 09! The more I get thinking about Kiefer being in school all day next year and having to get a job scares me so my goal is to be able to grow my business and stay home still. That way I can go to the school parties and concerts that they have whenever I want and not have to ask permission for the time off. Plus I'm really not sure where I would even look for a job, I have very limited experience - and I can't work anywhere that I would have to handle money because that stresses me out - I can't think quick enough to make change and I hate the phone!
So for 09 my goals are to grow my Mary Kay business & work on scrapbooking. I'm now 4 years behind in the kids' books - that is really starting to bother me because I want to be able to scrap the current pictures but I have vowed that I won't scrap those until I'm caught up. I also got a new Cricut for Christmas so I'm really excited about scrapbooking and using that - I'm hoping for a new cartridge for it for my non-existent birthday. No I don't celebrate my birthday - for some reason it really bothers me when people wish me a Happy Birthday so I try not to even acknowledge my birthday because I usually just get angry.
With Alex being in Seminary we have started attending a new church - our church is in a little rural community called Thornville - both the Pastors there are super nice and I enjoy going. Last week (1/4) I attended the young adult bible study or as they have named it The Bible for dummies - Pastor Patti teaches that class and even though it was a little over my head (I know nothing about the bible!!!) I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to attending it more.
This week everyone started back to school and I must say yesterday was nice being able to be alone for a little bit. I went grocery shopping by myself which was the first time in quite a while and I loved it! Alex is taking Hebrew for the next 13 days so I figure he'll get home from class and go hide in our room where he has a study area. He does have a week off in between Hebrew and when Spring classes start though so I'm really looking forward to that.
Alex is training for a half marathon in May and he is starting to inspire me. I am thinking that I need to start running too - I figure it would be good for my arthritic knees so maybe they won't dictate my life so much. I also want to start running before warmer weather comes because I know none of my clothes from last summer will fit - I have put on some weight since I quit walking the kids to school at the end of fall.
For some reason I keep trying to talk Alex into getting another cat even though half the time we can barely buy milk or bread. But I think Rascal would like a friend to play with especially if we go away again like we did over Christmas and he was here by himself for a week - I felt really bad for him. Luckily we do have some good friends here that came over to talk to him and keep him company a little.
So here's to 2009 I'm really hoping it will shine!
