Spring Has Sprung!

Today is April Fool's Day and we have a friend named Matt well he got me pretty good this morning. He posted on facebook that Graeter's our favorite ice cream place was closing I read that and said something to Alex - luckily Alex was on the ball and realized today is April Fool's Day and Matt is a jokester so it made sense. I talked to Matt shortly after that and he told me I should put it as my status too. I only got one comment, he got several. April Fool's Day was always just another day but today it was fun thanks to Matt!

This week I have decided that Spring is my new favorite season. I've decided this for a couple of reasons. One it usually means it's getting warmer which is good as I am ALWAYS cold. The other reason is Easter and new life. I love to watch all the flowers come up and the leaves starting to come out on the trees. This week has been a really moving week for me for some reason - with taking in all the beauty of the new life it has reminded me of how Jesus rose again. The whole Crucifixion and Rising Again just amazes me. I'm very fascinated by this to the point that Alex and I are realizing how commercial Easter is. This year our kids are getting new bibles, that was what Kiefer wanted and that's probably all they'll get.

I am excited this year too because my family will be traveling to OH to spend Easter with us - Emali wanted to be able to sing at church on Easter Sunday so my parents and sister are coming down so she can sing. I'm looking forward to my family visiting. I think they will enjoy coming down here and seeing all the green grass and flowers everywhere - it will be a nice change from the brown grass they have in MI.

Alex and I have the date, time, and place set for our Vow Renewal. Yesterday I finished up the invitations and today they went in the mail, I am really excited about renewing our vows. I know it sounds really weird but 10 years ago when we got married I didn't even want God's name mentioned in our vows. Now that we have come to find our faith it has been really bothering me. So, this ceremony means a lot to me especially with Alex studying to be a pastor. I think I even surprised Alex when I said I wanted to have communion at our ceremony - I'm usually one that doesn't like to have communion every week because it feels routine if we do but something in me has changed this week and I don't know how to explain it.

A dear friend of mine once told me that you'll feel the Holy Spirit work inside you in different ways and I think this week was one of them I really feel close to Jesus this week. I am very anxious for Sunday so I can worship again and continue on with our bible study in Adventures of Faith - I'm attending a class that is studying the bible book by book and we are currently on Judges. I'm really enjoying it and I even find myself reading the Bible so I will know what is going on in class :)

Tomorrow it is supposed to be really nice, I will try to take some pictures of all of our beautiful flowers that we have and post them.
