Preview of Ohio Spring?

Today I decided to walk to get the kids from school it was really nice out and most of the ice has melted off the sidewalks. I checked the temperature right before I left and it was 49 degrees. Then as I was walking I passed a yard that had 7 squirrels, 4 robins, and a couple other birds in it. Then I got thinking to myself is this what the spring is going to be like in Ohio, nice days with squirrels & birds being happy to find food in the mud? If it is, I'll take it. The sun wasn't out today but that didn't seem to dampen my mood it was just really nice to be able to walk outside! I have discovered that I've missed my 2 miles a day. Only 2 of the kids grumbled about walking home (and neither were mine) - but in all they all chatted and looked at their pokemon cards on the way home and they seemed to forget we were walking. I've noticed a change in my energy this evening too maybe I've finally caught a break in my winter blahs, granted we're supposed to be in the 50s & 60s only 2 more days before we're back to cold temps but I don't think there are any days out of the next 10 that are below freezing. I don't mind the rain either it's just that white crap that falls from the sky that I really don't like anymore. After living with it all my life I don't find it pretty anymore and it just puts me in a bad mood.
I have discovered with my new energy today I'm trying to plan things for my business, I'm ready to get going with it again!!! I know I kept saying it but this time I'm really ready - I think my gray days are finally going behind me!
So far Alex's semester hasn't been bad at all, he's been able to stay on top (sometimes ahead) on his reading so we're still getting to spend most of the evenings together which I am loving!
We will be signing Kiefer up for soccer here pretty soon that he'll play on Monday evenings this Spring and Emali is thinking about drama which I think would be awesome for her! I think she could really shine at it! I'll keep you posted on that.
Spring Break will be coming up soon, we're going to go to MI for a few days, Alex has to go to retreat for the Candidacy Committee and I'll get to spend time with family & friends so I'm looking forward to it! We're also going to be spending Easter here this year which I think will be neat! Emali's Sunday School class is going to be performing a song on Easter Sunday and she really wanted to sing with her class so she called up my parents and asked them to come down. I'm really excited that my Dad will be able to get away from the store to come down - I guess that is a perk of being the manager :)
So all in all, I'm finally starting to feel like myself again so watch out people! :) Just kidding.
For now .... That's all folks!

We are also enjoying this great spring like weather... but instead of getting exctied it has made me in to a big slug today. The nice weather gets me thinking about summer which reminds me that I am stuck with no car in a town with no public transportation and nothing near enough to walk or ride bikes to. I want to be back in my house in Holland where I could walk to serval different parks, the aquatic center for swimming lessons, the school for gymnastics and right across the street from friends. I just want to go back to bed and feel sorry for myself - isn't that terrible? I hate winter and should be so happy about this preview to spring! I am so happy though that it is lifting your spirits, that is great and gives me a little inspiration to get my butt moving.

Hey Tina,
I am glad that you are enjoying the spring like weather. I too have enjoyed it but realize that I am in Michigan and realize that this doesn't last long. Especially since we are not out of the winter months yet. If we were at the end of March I would be like yea spring is here but knowing we still have the rest of this month and all of March it reminds me that we can still get hit pretty hard witht snow yet. I don't want to think that way but it is Michigan.
Enjoy your spring like days.

Hey Tina! Isn't spring fever wonderful?! Good for you to feel your spirits uplifted. I'm not sure if I'm exactly feeling spring fever here in CT, but I was really enjoying the long weekend so I took an extra day off this week to hang out with the kids while they are on Feb break. I'm loving the downtime and feel like I can conquer the world! LOL. Enjoy your day :)
