Today I found that I wasn't really in the mood to do anything - I didn't sleep well last night and it is very cold & gloomy - but I knew I had to do something so I decided to go grocery shopping.
On my way to Meijer i kept thinking about how I didn't really want to go but once I was there and in the store I was fine. As I was wondering my way around I kept reminding myself to buy a light for my car, which I remembered. Then I was onto the grocery where it seemed that every other thing I picked up I had a coupon for so that made me in a good mood - I have really become a coupon shopper with our budget.
After I had gathered up most of the items on my list I checked my phone to see the time and realized that time had really gotten away from me and I needed to get going so I would have time to put the cold items away before I had to leave to pick up the kids from school.
As I was heading to the check out lanes I saw that they only had 2 lanes open which is pretty typical other than I normally have more time. As I walked past all the u-scans (which I despise) the lady that was working on the express lane for 12 items or less told me I could come through her line, I asked her if she was sure as I looked at my heaping cart of groceries she said sure come on over, we don't always pay attention to that. I was quite excited by this fact as I was running on such a limited time as I finished unloading my cart, a lady who had just finished checking herself out came over and asked me if I thought my total would hit $70 which I figured I would as I had $23 in just stuff for my car, she then handed me a coupon for $7 off my total order. I told her Thank You and that I greatly appreciated it. I really felt at that moment she was like an angel from God reminding me to always keep my head up.
On my way home I was thinking about that ladies kindness and my gratitude towards her, and then I got thinking about how I was looking at the AirWick warmers and realizing that all the scents would give me a headache, I then laid my coupon for the free warmer and a coupon for a dollar off a refill on the shelf - I hope someone find them and is able to use them and maybe that person will perform a random act of kindness.
So needless to say my shopping trip I didn't want to go on turned out pretty well. Next time you're thinking about doing a random act of kindness, just do it - someone may think your an angel reminding them that things will be okay and they are where they are supposed to be.
Thanks Be to God.
