Well the kids have been in school for 2 weeks now and they are both loving it. Emali has made it tear free the whole time - she was eating with the school counselor because she didn't like the lunchroom but yesterday she ate with her best friend Taylor. She's hoping that Taylor & Claire will be able to come over today, we have not met their parents yet so we'll see but hopefully one of these days we'll be able to have them over. Kiefer loves school too - he really likes his teacher and he has a friend named Matthew that he wants to come over sometime so we'll see.
This Sunday the school is having a carnival which we thought was kind of expensive ($10 per child) but we're going to take the kids for a little while. The carnival runs from 2-5 and Kiefer has soccer from 330-430 so we won't be able to go to the carnival for long but I think it will be long enough for them to enjoy it. Kiefer is REALLY excited about soccer too.
This week has been hard on me because we went up to Michigan last weekend and went to church and spent time with family. For some reason it's easier to say goodbye to family when it's them leaving our house than us leaving to head back home. Well that and it was really hot on Monday so by the time we got home we were all exhausted from riding 4.5 hours in a car with no AC. Last night we went to the grocery store to do some shopping and we decided that we are not going to take the care anywhere else until the brakes get looked at. So that car has no AC, a leak in the power steering, and REALLY bad brakes. I've been torturing myself and looking at websites at vans - I would love to get a van we used to have one and I miss it. Plus then when it's raining and I need to take part of the Trinity walking group to school I can drive my own van instead of borrowing someones.
So school is going well for the kids & Alex - and I just feel like I have no life, it seems like all I do is walk back and forth to the school. My feet are not liking me walking 6 miles a day either. Today Alex doesn't have any classes he's just working but he has planned his work schedule around taking the kids to school and picking them up so I'm excited that I don't have to. Fridays will be my day off from walking.
I have met a good friend though, her name is Kristen and her and I hang out a lot - she has a job but hasn't started yet so I'm enjoying her company while she's on "vacation." Her and her husband Travis went to Michigan with us over Labor Day weekend and that was a lot of fun!
I'll try to post after soccer & the carnival to let you know how that goes. TTFN!
